2nd Place American Red Heart Association Red gown
A gown designed for the American red heart association during my semester abroad in Rome Italy. Winning 2nd place and show cased in the Macys Window Display 2018 Summer Concept: I was inspired by the complexity of the brain, the structure of it weaving in and out of itself, the emotions that are communicated through neurotransmitters and the ability we have to shut them off so we feel nothing at all. The fan starts over the heart and wraps around the back as a form of protection from the ability to turn off emotionally. The gown is constructed of satin, boning, organza, chiffon and tulle. The fan is hand pleated along with the bodice intertwined pieces of chiffon and tulle hand sewn.
